The Xeon E3-1270 v3 CPU offers a base frequency of 3.5 GHz with a bus speed of 5 GT/s and a cache of 8 MB. The E3-1270 v3 also offers 4 cores and 8 threads, and its memory support maxes out at 32 GB DDR3 1600 MHz RAM at 1.5 V, including ECC memory. This version of the CPU launched in 2013, so it is not the newest and hottest chip on the market. But for server managers who need to replace a Socket 1150 processor on a legacy server board, the Intel Xeon E3-1270 v3 is a great option at an affordable price.
